HIRING ASSESSMENTS

SparkTalent: An Online Assessment Platform With AI Proctoring

SparkTalent lets you assess candidates for any role on real work, with MCQs, written tasks, one-way video interviews, Git coding tasks and QA tests on a live app. AI proctoring records what happened during the test, so your reviewers can check the evidence and decide.

THE PROBLEM

Why Hire on Real Work Instead of CVs?

A CV tells you how well someone describes their work. It doesn't tell you whether they can do the job. For a single opening, hiring teams in India often receive far more applications than they can read carefully, and the first round of phone screens takes up days of an interviewer's time.

We built SparkTalent to fix that in our own hiring. Instead of screening CVs, you give every applicant the same short, relevant task. The people who can do the work stand out, whatever their CV looks like, and your interviewers spend their time only on candidates who have already shown what they can do.

Remote assessments raise a fair question: how do you know the candidate did the work themselves? That is what the AI proctoring is for. It doesn't make the decision for you. It records what happened during the test and shows it to your reviewers.

FIVE ASSESSMENT TYPES

Five Ways to Assess a Candidate

Each stage of an assessment can mix question types, so you test what matters for the role.

  1. Multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Auto-graded knowledge checks for quick shortlisting, for any role.
  2. Written tasks. Longer answers scored against a rubric, for analysts, managers and anyone whose job involves thinking on paper.
  3. One-way video interviews. Timed webcam recordings that candidates make in their own time, and your team reviews at its own pace. Useful for communication skills and customer-facing roles.
  4. Git coding tasks. Candidates clone a real repository, write code in their own editor and push their commits. Reviewers read a real codebase, not a whiteboard puzzle. With GitLab, each candidate gets their own fork automatically.
  5. QA tests on a live app. Candidates open a staging application, explore it, find bugs and write up what they found. It shows real debugging skill on a real product.

Candidates can also upload files, such as portfolios for designers. Combine stages into a pipeline, so candidates move on only when they pass the step before.

AI PROCTORING

How the AI Proctoring Works

AI proctoring means software watches for the signs of an unfair test during a remote assessment, instead of a person watching every candidate live. In SparkTalent, every proctoring feature can be switched on or off for each stage, so you use only what the role needs.

  • Face tracking through the webcam, including whether a person is in the frame and whether someone else appears.
  • Voice monitoring for background conversation or someone prompting the candidate off-screen.
  • Browser focus and tab-switch logging, with full-screen mode during the test.
  • Screen capture at intervals you configure.
  • Multi-monitor detection, to spot a second screen before and during the test.
  • A timeline of every flagged event, with the evidence attached, so reviewers can check it in context.

A flag is not a verdict. A candidate may look away to think or have a noisy home. SparkTalent shows your reviewers what happened and leaves the judgement to them.

HOW IT WORKS

From Job Posting to Shortlist

Phase 01

Post the Role

Create the job listing in the SparkTalent admin panel, with the title, description, location and application questions.

Phase 02

Build the Assessment

Attach a multi-stage assessment, mix question types in each stage, set time limits and choose which proctoring features to use.

Phase 03

Invite Candidates

Import candidates in bulk and send invitations and reminders by email. Candidates get a guided tutorial and step-by-step camera, microphone and screen permissions before they start.

Phase 04

Review and Shortlist

MCQs are graded automatically. For everything else, several reviewers score each answer with written reasons, and scores are averaged into a final number.

BUILT FOR HIRING TEAMS

Built for the People Running the Hiring

  • Multiple reviewers per answer. Each score records who gave it and why, which makes decisions easier to explain and reduces the effect of one person's bias.
  • Bulk import and export. Bring candidates in from another system with a JSON upload, and export results whenever you need them.
  • Email invitations and reminders sent from the platform, so nobody chases candidates by hand.
  • Role-based access. Super admins, admins and interviewers see only what they need, and scores and responses are protected from accidental edits.
  • Stage reset. If a candidate loses power or their connection drops mid-test, an admin can reset that stage for a retry.
  • Help during the test. A live chat widget lets candidates ask your team questions while they work.

Candidates' answers, recordings and proctoring evidence are personal data. If you run assessments for people in India, plan how long you keep them and who can see them; our DPDP Act compliance checklist covers what the law expects.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions About SparkTalent

Straight answers about assessments, proctoring and scoring.

What is SparkTalent?
SparkTalent is an online assessment platform for hiring, built by CyberSpark. It assesses candidates through MCQs, written tasks, one-way video interviews, Git coding tasks and QA tests on a live app, with optional AI proctoring.
What is AI proctoring?
AI proctoring uses software to watch for signs of an unfair remote test, such as another person in the frame, voices in the background, tab switching or a second screen. SparkTalent records these events on a timeline with the evidence, and your reviewers decide what they mean.
Is SparkTalent only for hiring developers?
No. Use MCQs, written tasks and video interviews for non-technical roles such as operations, analysis or marketing. Git coding tasks and QA tests are there for technical roles when you need them.
Can we choose which proctoring features to use?
Yes. Every proctoring feature can be switched on or off for each stage of an assessment, so a short knowledge check can run with less monitoring than a final technical test.
How does scoring work?
MCQs are graded instantly. For written answers, videos, coding tasks and QA tests, several reviewers can score each response independently, each with their name and reasoning, and SparkTalent averages the scores.
Can we import candidates from our current system?
Yes. You can import candidates in bulk with a JSON file, including names, emails, CVs and application details, and export results whenever you need them.
What happens if a candidate's internet drops during the test?
An admin can reset the affected stage so the candidate can try again, and candidates can reach your team through the live chat widget during the test.
